How we meet our goal à through open communication with the patient and all medical professionals involved. We complete a home evaluation with the patient and make sure if the patient is working with a therapist that we schedule a seating clinic at their convenience. We will provide assistance in the way of explaining all insurance guidelines for the patient’s individual plan. Follow up on paperwork is key to ensure the equipment is provided in a timely manner. Our seating technician with over 5 years of experience will carefully evaluate and measure the client to be sure the equipment will fit their particular needs. Our certified ATP will assist in selecting the equipment.
Follow up à Once equipment is delivered, we follow up with the patient with any adjustments or concerns. Our technician will come back to the home for up to six months to help with any of these adjustments so that the patient will not have to go without their equipment. After 6 months time if there are any mechanical issues we will provide loaner equipment even if this is not covered by the patient’s insurance to ensure the patient remains independent as much as possible.
Rehab Coordinators responsibilities include à initial contact with the patient. Gather all relevant information that will begin the process. Contact the physician for needed documentation. If needed fax over a summary of the insurance guidelines. Set up the home evaluation. Set up needed seating clinic with any involved therapist. Provide the physician with detailed order/description of what the patient would be receiving. Main contact for the patient and health care professionals for status of the equipment.
Seating specialist/ATP’s responsibilities à meet with the patient and health care professional at the facility or home for all seating assessments. Spec out the equipment specifically for each patient. Order all equipment for the patient once all support documentation is received. At delivery of the equipment, they will instruct the patient on operating the equipment. Be sure to explain how to charge and care for the equipment. Make any adjustments that may be needed. Return upon patient or health care professionals’ request for modifications or adjustments.
